The first “care package” from my new partnership with X2 Fishing has arrived! These guys make some awesome Salmon flashers and they’ve already killed a bunch of fish. I can’t wait to use these to catch more fish for my clients. Watch a preview of some of the new flashers and gear that will be on my boat.

A year ago my son Bobby bought one of their salmon flashers at the Pacific Northwest Sportsman Show. I was skeptical but he insisted that I put it in the water. The one he bought became one of the most successful pieces of salmon fishing equipment on my boat. My number one rule is “don’t argue with the fish” and that goes for lures, bait, and Salmon Flashers.

This isn’t just an unboxing video though. Salmon flashers are more complicated than you think. They need to have the right shape to generate a convincing “thump” in the water. They also need to have the right color for the water conditions and the eyes of the salmon. They also need to either reflect or generate light in the water they’re being fished in. Their job after all is to convince a salmon that they’re missing out on dinner. X2 fishing’s Salmon flashers not only do that, but they give me options that allow for lower speed trolling. I can’t wait to put these flashers to use for Buoy 10, Ocean Salmon, and Spring Chinook.
