Being on the Water Can Be Dangerous

Any activity on the water is inherently dangerous and can be impacted by unpredictable events. These can be brought on by weather, wildlife, other natural phenomena, and/or the actions of other people and vessels on the water. While reasonable precautions will be taken, this does not guarantee that you be 100% protected from harm. Medical transport from remote locations can be expensive. You should consider the purchase trip insurance and other protection to ensure that you are covered in the case of injury or death.

You are responsible for any items you bring with you

If you bring an item on the boat, you are responsible for ensuring that the item goes home with you. This includes cameras, phones, sunglasses or other expensive items that can be damaged by water or fall overboard. You are also responsible for the safe use of any items you bring. Please do not bring personal fishing gear, knives with blades over 3″, firearms. or other weapons on board.

Compliance with fishing regulations and local laws

You are responsible for your compliance with local fishing regulations including the purchase of required licenses, endorsements, and tags. Your trip will be in waters regulated by either the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, or the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. While your guide has extensive knowledge of these rules, you are still responsible for reading and understanding them yourself. Fishing regulations can be found at myodfw.com/fishing and wdfw.wa.gov/fishing/regulations.

Other laws protecting the environment or wildlife such as the clean water act or the marine mammal protection act may also apply during your trip. You should be aware of these laws and prepared to comply with them as necessary.

Refusal to comply will result in the immediate ending of your trip without a refund.

Disruptive or Dangerous Behavior

Behavior that disrupts the enjoyment or safety of others will not be allowed during the trip. Intentionally dangerous behavior will result in being returned to shore with no refund. Visible intoxication will be considered intentionally dangerous behavior.

Captain’s Prerogative

The guide/captain may at any time make decisions for the safety or convenience of the vessel, the passengers, or the crew. Failure to follow direct instructions from the captain may be interpreted as disruptive or dangerous behavior and can result in the cancellation of your trip.

Cancellation/Rescheduling/No-Show

Your trip may be cancelled with little or no notice due to hazardous conditions, regulatory action by government authorities or any other type of force majeure. In the case of such a cancellation you will be given the opportunity to re-book at a later date, change the type of trip to one that can be accomplished (e.g. fish for salmon rather than sturgeon), or receive a refund of your deposit.

At least two days prior to your trip you will receive notice of the departure location and time for your trip. If you are not present and ready to depart at the departure location at the specified time, the vessel may leave without you and you will forfeit your deposit.
