Fishing Reports
Fishing, Spring Chinook
Jerad Sorber with a beautiful freshly caught Spring Chinook

The dam counts are looking good and the Columbia River Springer season has been extended to June 15th. Catches have been a bit spotty but with a little bit of knowledge you can get on them. Most of the fishing in our area is with plugs on the outgoing and trolling the incoming tide. There are rumors that a few summer fish are starting to make their way in as well. Hopefully we’ll see some of those green backed football shaped Chinook coming in soon.

The bite has been slow but consistent if you’re dialed in. If you’re not it’s a real challenge since the clear water has the springers a bit finicky right now. I’ve extended my booking window so make sure to get a seat. As we hit the overlap between the end of the “true springers” and the beginning of the “summer chinook” run (springers after June 1), we should see a spike in catches.
