Happy Clients showing off an early spring Chinook Salmon caught near Astoria Oregon

If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to go fishing with me, take a look at this article in Northwest Fishing Magazine. I give an insight into a Spring Chinook fishing trip from a guide’s perspective. Springers are one of the most challenging trips to guide and a lot of my colleagues have stopped offering trips in the lower river for them. I do it because I not only enjoy the challenge, but it brings out a special kind of client. These trips are usually booked by people who enjoy fishing for fishing’s sake. They aren’t there to “rip lips” or stack up a body count. They’re on the water because they share a love of getting out on the water and can’t wait to start off the season.

This was a fun crew and a trip I won’t forget for a while. I hope these guys remember it well after their fish was eaten.
