Columbia River Spring Chinook has a limited opener this weekend (May 15-17) and for Memorial Day Weekend (May 23-25). I can’t wait to get some more of these awesome fish on board.

UPDATE Added 7:24 PM:

Fishing Plans

The tides for the first weekend are looking a little challenging with minus tides increasing during the weekend. Friday the 15th I plan to depart from the Westport County Park boat launch and fish on anchor until the tide finishes and then troll for the rest of the day. Depending on the results for Friday as well as the wind forecast, I may move down lower and troll near Altoona and Jim Crow Island for Saturday and Sunday. Those trips will depart from John Day County Park.

Memorial Day Weekend looks good for tides with nice long outgoing tides in the mornings. These will probably be “anchor up” days near Cathlamet again with trips departing from the Westport County Park launch.

Booking Options

Mixed groups and individuals are welcome. Contact me for full boat or other discounts. For mixed groups or singles I typically don’t like to book more than 3 people per trip. This gives everyone the best chance of catching a fish. For groups though, Blue Jay holds 5. There is a possibility that I will have the Good Ju Ju ready to fish by Memorial Day weekend, in which case I will be able to fit 6 people comfortably if your group has that many.
